Oh! Hello again!

[ the sim room is currently... completely underwater. it's very little mermaid vibes. he is not beating the merfish allegations. she should be able to breathe since none of it is real, at least, and sound travels in a way that is wholly unrealistic. ]

One moment...

[ all the same, a silvery platform appears, rising up out of the waves to provide some dry land for her. ]

[ HELP she holds her breath anyway and flails about until deposited on the platform. then lets out a gasp. ]

Aaah, that really surprised me...

[ help. it's only natural. he stays wading in the water though, staying afloat just beside the platform. ]

Not to worry! It isn't real! But it certainly feels that way, doesn't it?

[ fortunately, anise is a kid who can bounce back from thought-she-was-going-to-drown almost immediately. ]

Yeah! I didn't know the simulations could do this...

[ she dips her hand in the water experimentally. ]

Is this what it's like where you come from?

It's similar! I was not specific enough, I think...

[ so it is a little generic in its water. but the platform she's on is made of a silvery material, designed in ornate swirls of metal and embedded with blue stones, not unlike all the jewelry he's wearing. ]

Still getting my bearings. But I think it's lovely even so! [ the sky is a little dark, but clear, and the water is a gentle spring, so the surface of it reflects the stars without much interruption. ]

I guess it is nice to have something that reminds you of home. Everything else on this ship is like, super weird.

It is indeed super weird.

[ he rests alongside the platform for a moment, looking at her. ]

How are you adjusting? Doing well enough with your rooming situation?

Hmm... I was worried when it turned out there were three of us in one room, but we actually managed to come to an agreement! It turns out Luke's a real gentleman, hehe.

Who'd they stick you with?

Oh—Luke did mention something about that. [ he frowns a little ] I wish they would give proper accommodations for all of you, though...

[ they didn't even get more space?? ]

I am with Isabel Lovelace—she is an excellent partner! I have no complaints! ...Except that I will surely get in her way.

It's good that you get along! But yeah, the rooms must be pretty small for you...

Is it weird, being around lots of humans?

[polliwog]

It is different. But not in a bad way.

[ the people here have been fun, even if there is the occasional... misunderstanding. he's always liked hylians, and humans are adjacent. ]

Are there only humans in your world? Is everyone else considered a monster?

Pretty much, yeah. Other than like... cheagles, I guess?

I have never heard of a "cheagle!" [ o: other nonhumans ] What manner of people are they?

They're furry little woodland creatures with big, fluffy ears. They're considered holy beasts by the Order, and with the power of a Sorcerer's Ring, they can talk to humans and monsters alike. I traveled with one back home!

Oh—they can communicate with monsters! How fascinating. I'd have never thought it possible.

[ not that bokoblins would be interested in talking, probably. ]

I guess I've known one other person who could do the same, but that was kind of a special case, too...

What sort of things did they talk about?

From what I can tell, ligers mostly talk about how they want to eat smaller creatures.

[ a shrug. ]

They're not that complicated.

[ he laughs a little, water reverberating around him. ]

And here I wondered if the line between monster and man might be blurrier than I thought.

[ he's still kind of wondering, considering he's been mistaken as a monster a few times. ]

So are there lots of different kinds of people where you're from? Zoras and Hylians and more?

[ he's out and about the concourse, browsing the 'mall' they've basically been let loose on. he looks thoughtful. ]

Anise, if you were to receive a gift from someone you care for—what would you like most?

I don't know... something valuable, like jewelry!? And you can never go wrong with money...

Oh—jewelry! [ he probably doesn't have the money for that, but obviously it's a big zora thing. ] That's an excellent one, though... Money is a bit impersonal, isn't it?

I wanted to find a gift for Viktor! I suppose if it's that important, I could get money from the blood bank—but I thought something more... unique would be better?
