[ will straight up jog to catch up when he sees sidon in the hall. ]

Sidon! Hey.

[ checks head-tail status. swimming? droop? ]

[ oh, good status indicator. his head-tail is just kinda swishing here and again, distracted along with his thoughts. it goes still at being called, though. ]

Nodd! Hello. [ a bright moment, then back to something—a little grieving, still. ] You're all right? I take it you were there when they... found Scien.

[ he used to hang with a tiefling who had a quite expressive, uh, posterior tail. nodd has learned to check if he cares to know. ]

The alarm was hard to miss. What about you? Did you go in, when the barrier went down?

[polliwog]

[ hangs out with furries... ]

I did. Scien wanted to be killed and his body burned—I went to go see the state of it.

[ it's not exactly a secret, and he wouldn't be the type to keep it anyway. there is frustration in him then, tempered somewhat by sadness. ]

I would go to pay my respects either way. But it is difficult to do that when there's quite a lot we don't know.

He did make his wishes clear. Not sure what right any of us have to stick him in that pod.

[ not that he blames the crew members who did. they likely weren't given a choice. ]

And we're still expected to live and work on this junk heap. How did we all become so lucky?

[ at least they can... try to get him out. no promises to success. he answers with a little smile. ]

The odds are impressive. To be so unlucky amongst an infinite number of galaxies.

[ he doesn't really like the idea of someone else being here in his place, though. he's not complaining. ]

It's dangerous, and I can't willfully deny that. [ he's an optimist, but that doesn't mean every positive outcome is true. ] But if we live and work thoughtfully, I hope we can find answers.

Can I ask a question?

[ while sidon spoke, he listened, craning his head back to maintain some level of eye contact. good manners, unlike when he asks the question before sidon can give him permission. ]

What does it take to make you angry?

[ there's a flicker of surprise, then—he laughs. one that comes out of his chest and not the softer ones he's adopted this weekend. ]

I have been angry! [ in small snatches of time, but certainly a couple instances this weekend ] Ah, but I don't like to linger in it. Bitterness is thorn, you know? When you live for hundreds of years—it can stay with you for a century, if you're not careful.

[ he's seen it firsthand. ]

[ nodd saw the knocked over item the other day, the lashing head-tail, but they struck him as closer to frustration.

oh well, 'cause, gosh, that laugh. gonna hold that in his memory bank for a hot minute. ]

I forget that you're a smidge older than me.

[ u know level 18 monks are immortal just give him some time. ]

Ahhh, I'm worried you're going to be a good influence on me. I'll lose my edge.

[ the way he really doesn't know how hylian aging works well enough to realize that nodd looks great for his age. this is normal long-lived race shenanigans. ]

Is that another part of your creed? [ along with the magic mushrooms ] Keeping a sharp edge?

[ he's lighthearted, but even he knows that for a warrior, they have to stay a keen blade. ]

[ the scarier truth is nodd just looks the right age for what he is. long-lived species shenanigans. ]

What a good question. No, not sharp. It's probably best to stay malleable.
