[ AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I'LL GET THERE... SOON....... ]
Nothing is fair here.
[ he's a warrior. maybe he should've gotten more distance from her, but he'd also worried what would happen if he left her alone. altogether—it was just another cruel situation. how can he blame her? how can he blame people who vote at trial, or raise their swords during execution? he does not see himself as a victim, not unless they all are. ]
The only thing we can do is be good to one another, because this ship won't be. [ he'll offer her a hand, the non-prosthetic one. ] Isn't the best, most defiant outcome that we become friends?
[ that they support each other, even through these difficult memories? ]
[ he quickly and firmly grasps her little paw in his hands. ]
It isn't hard. It's not complicated at all!
[ and okay, the void starts taking shape. the sky forms, thick with clouds, rain starting in a trickle, then a storm as they're plunged into the cold water with a big elephant mecha, and a scene starts. you can just watch for a couple seconds to get the gist of it, it's a boss fight. the boss's name is...
It's name is Vah Ruta—a title in honor of a Zora Princess of old, made from technology just as ancient and beyond all modern comprehension. This towering beast was meant to stave off the apocalypse, one of four Divine Beasts, and instead it was—blighted. Corrupted and overtaken.
Now, it brings sorrow. Endless rain. Memories that scar your people, a century old yet so firmly rooted in their long-lived minds. Mipha, your beloved elder sister, died in the heart of this machine, and her soul, you expect, is trapped still within all that metal and wire and regret. Because Mipha was supposed to save Hyrule. And in that failure, both her and Vah Ruta are mired here—until either the Calamity returns and destroys Hyrule for good, or something forces their way inside and lodges her free.
Something, or someone (cutscene up through 4:30:51). You and Link, the Hylian hero who your sister had once so loved, have brought Ruta to kneel, adrenaline still soaring to even the tips of your fins. Everything buzzes in you. It is a fight against sheets of rain and raging water, a lamentable machine, ancient ice magic, and a Hylian sent way up into the air, armed with only arrows and his own strength of spirit. A hundred years have passed for this moment. Ruta seems to be a creature in and of itself, in pain, waiting to serve its true purpose and help this world. You cannot board it—that was a task for Mipha, and now one for Link—but.
The rain has finally stopped. The sky opens. Light dawns with it as Ruta raises its head. And you believe fully, with your whole, huge heart, that Link can do this. You haven't even the faintest shred of doubt in him. He is going to save your home, Vah Ruta, Zora's Domain—
And that means, someday soon, that Mipha may finally find some rest too. ]
[ the mecha beast is out of her realm of imagination even after being on this spaceship for weeks. there is understanding from what she's been told of what this means to sidon. the eudora is nothing like the vah ruta, in purpose or structure, but both are still blighted and corrupted machines that bring sorrow.
it's a memory that leads to a kind of hope. she hopes it's not a false one. sidon, with his huge heart, deserves to have that hope. ]
That means your sister will find peace, doesn't it?
[ oh, this isn't a bad memory. it is laced with a sort of grief and melancholy in pieces, but generally—the feelings within it are adventurous. hopeful. ]
Maybe not just yet, but she will! Link will end the malice corrupting Hyrule. Of that, I'm sure.
[ he still has moments of self-doubt about it, but he trusts link wholly and unconditionally. ]
...Vah Ruta still needs to fulfill its duty. And thus, so does my sister. So she cannot pass on just yet. But I do believe that day will arrive sooner, rather than later.
[ it is a good and hopeful memory for sidon, but the context it gives shouxue makes her feel guilt. this isn't about her, though, so she nods. ]
I did not know your world was under such strife, but if this Link [ and you ] is working to end it, I am sure your home and your sister will see the peace and freedom it deserves.

she hesitates and look at his offered hand for a long moment before she places her small hand in his large one. ]
I... [ she doesn't deserve to be his friend, but the worst part of her wants to be. ] I don't know how to be a friend.
[ even after agreeing to be someone's friend, she still doesn't know how friendship works. ]
