[eeeeuuauuoogh i love zora's domain so much, it's so pretty.
she wanders in, and there's two things he can feel from her right off the bat! the first is a bright and fascinated curiosity, maybe a little childlike. she's always been more comfortable in the dark, and the soft glow of the blue stones makes her smile as she walks into the room. the second thing is, unfortunately, a soft, bone-deep sorrow, persistent. it's not at the forefront of her emotions, and sometimes it fades into the background entirely, but it's a little bit like a chronic pain; it's always there, and she's become accustomed to ignoring it as much as she's able, just to function properly.
thankfully, it's not intrusive, and she seems to be in a decent mood despite the (anna voice) kingdom hearts darkness.]
Sidon. [she greets him, making her way over to him.] This is Hyrule?
also damn girl you live like this. feeling other people's emotions is something he's getting used to, and though it's not unwelcome at all, it can be troubling. there is so much that the people here suffer, quietly, chronically.
but as if in a call and answer, his own good cheer magnifies, persisting and warm. like he's practiced to respond this way. ]
...It is!
[ he steps across one of the many silvery platforms to greet her properly, water splashing underfoot. ]
Specifically, it is Zora's Domain. You were gracious enough to show me your home—this is mine.
[she's felt this response to her a couple times now, which she thinks is funny? they feel her black void depression and try not to add to it. only - this time, when sidon does it, she thinks maybe it isn't so much a guilt response or an attempt to take up less space, but something genuine. a warm campfire.
she comes up to meet him. her boots are. wet. and that feels horrible, but she deals with it.
she smiles as she meets his gaze, and then looks out around at their surroundings.]
It's beautiful. [genuinely.] The lights... I like them.
Show me around? I'd love to see it the way you do.
[ despite her depression, or maybe in spite of it, throne is wonderful company. it doesn't seem as though the darkness that dogs her makes the smile she wears any less genuine; if anything, it lends a certain meaning to it. like how shadows add dimension.
and so his feelings also persist as they do, bright and proud when she seems to enjoy the sight before her. ]
I would gladly! Though to travel as I do, you'd have to brave those. [ he gestures to where, divided by the silver columns, water cascades down from the upper levels of the domain in small waterfalls. ] ...But we can take the stairs!
[ lol. anyway, the stairs are fine. they're also needlessly pretty. everything here feels almost like a statement piece, like jewelry, and he'll walk her towards the main level—between all the silvery blue filigree there are more normal things, like stores, small ponds and fountains where there zora chat and leisure, a large smithery. actual signs of people living here and not just fancy architecture, though it's still quieter than a bustling city. on that note— ] I was surprised—the energy in your hometown was entirely different.
[she enjoys the way he's so proud of his home - it's sweet. and bodes well, too, since he's a prince. it makes her think a little about hikari. of course he isn't so excitable like sidon is, but he's equally as hopeful, and she thinks that makes for someone wonderful.
the motion to the waterfalls makes her laugh, actually, startled.]
Do... you swim up them? [she asks, amused, but. she follows him up the stairs.] ... You're right, though. New Delsta is much more... cramped.
[stifling. it's home, but she's not always sure she misses it.]
[ matter of perspective, he supposes. regardless, while he doesn't think zora's domain and the way they do things are superior to what he's seen elsewhere, the confidence and pride doesn't abate. it does soften some, though. something contented, more mellow. ]
Conflict rarely makes it this far.
[ he leads her through the main courtyard, circled by homes and stores and centered around a statue of a young zora woman. ]
Your New Delsta—will you tell me some about it as well? I've always found Zora's Domain to be healing. What about your home?
[you can drop this if you want i just feel bad for letting it go even though this weekend was fuck]
Well. I wouldn't call it healing. [she says, with a touch of amusement.] I've described it to others as a city where nobody sleeps. It's exciting, alive. You're just as likely to find a party on every block as you are to be mugged in an alleyway.

... Far less peaceful than it is here.
